Can you surf the Internet in a Kindle world with a Wi-Fi?

I'm pretty sure my husband got me a Kindle for Christmas I and I know it comes with the 3G wireless network to download books in print, but can also surf the web? ITouch seems that lets you surf on the Web and can obtain an application for the turn. The 8G is also less expensive than the Kindle. I really want to be able to access Inernet and wonder which is the better buy? I live in Germany and tested the 3G card. I think it should be OK,

No, the Kindle is not wi-fi. But what is good it comes with Free Wireless International 3G, so you can surf the Internet anywhere within wireless coverage. The iPod touch, however, has as Wi-Fi but no 3G wireless or otherwise. But the iPod Touch has a much better browser compared to Kindle. You should expect the Kindle should be used to access text heavy sites like Google, Wikipedia, Gmail, etc., but do not expect it to be used for Web sites like Facebook. For me, I think the browser is a free feature and extra large, considering that the main purpose for the Kindle is the convenience of reading books. I love my Kindle 2 much.
